Adoption Stories

Sarah had always been a huge advocate for pet adoption.
Her first rescue was Clarence - a poorly socialised Jack Russell cross, who was suffering from severe separation anxiety after being surrendered by his previous owner.
When Sarah adopted her second rescue Florence, a King Charles Cavalier, she had no idea that she was bringing home a soul mate and the key to Clarence’s broken heart.
“The first two weeks introducing Florence to Clarence, he was a little reserved, unsure what to make of the new furry family member,” said Sarah.
“As Florence came out of her shell, Clarence instantly warmed to her. Now, on walks, they explore together, when at home they snuggle up in the beds together. Florence has really helped Clarence with his separation anxiety, more than we ever thought it would. They are a cheeky, loveable pair.”
On choosing to adopt a rescue pet rather than purchase one from a breeder, Sarah said it’s a more fulfilling experience.
“Dogs enter rescues rarely through any fault of their own, they are dreaming for a loving home, to be loved, to be cared for and to enjoy the world as they (a dog) should,” Sarah said.
“Being able to provide this for a dog who has not necessarily had the best start in life, gaining their trust, giving them the attention they deserve, watching them grow and showing their true personality is very rewarding.”
