Working with our Petschool trainers we are able to tailor training to meet the individual needs of you and your dog in a solo training session in-store.

Prior to the session you will fill out a questionnaire to help us understand the level of training you are currently at and what goals you would like to achieve. Every dog is different, and we are here to listen to you!

Our Petschool trainers in selected sites are able to accommodate your individual training needs.

Private lessons are great for any dog who may struggle in a group environment, or just for any further assistance an owner needs to advance their training techniques.

Puppy School FAQs

What are the requirements for my puppy to enrol?

For us to maintain a safe and healthy environment, your puppy or dog will need to be:

• In good overall health
• For Puppy School: Minimum C3 vaccination 10 days prior to class
• For Preschool and Petschool: Minimum of a current yearly C5 vaccination
• Currently flea and worm treated
• Friendly towards people
• Friendly towards other dogs

What do I need to bring to Puppy School?

You should bring the following items:

Your puppy (obviously!)
Your dog’s current vaccination certificate
A flat collar and a lead
A mat or towel
Treat pouch and high value treats (in pieces no larger than your small fingernail)
Your dog’s favourite toy

Make sure to:

Arrive 10 minutes before class.
Avoid feeding your puppy or dog prior to class.
Wear suitable attire and closed footwear.
Always keep your puppy or dog on their leash, unless instructed by your trainer.

What happens if I miss a class?

We get it: life happens, and you might need to miss a class.

If you do, simply let your Puppy School trainer know and they’ll advise you how to work on your skills at home with your dog so you can resume normal classes the following week.

If you miss more than three sessions, we will ask that you re-enrol to complete the full program at another time. No refunds or partial refunds will be given for missing class.

Will there be homework and practice outside of class?

What can I expect from my dog at Puppy School?

Just like humans, dogs learn at different rates and will often behave differently from others during class. You may find that your dog is active, a barker, shy, boisterous or even timid. These behaviours are normal. After all, they're still learning how to socialise!

It’s important to concentrate only on your dog’s development – and not compare them to others in the class. Each dog will receive individual attention and guidance from your trainer throughout the course.
