Adoption Stories
Next StoryLisa & Ray's Story
“Fostering is a great option, because if it’s not right for you, it allows the pet an opportunity to find their perfect home,” - Lisa
Lisa has always been a passionate supporter of animal adoption. Having an extended family with an adopted dog ‘clan’, she was forever visiting petrescue.com.au to look at animals and sending links to people she knew were looking for a pet.
While Lisa dreamed of the day she could adopt her own dog, she wasn’t entirely ready to commit and was concerned her apartment wouldn’t give a dog the lifestyle it deserved. While spending many hours at home throughout 2020, Lisa decided there was no better time to foster and give a dog a chance at a loving home and better life.
The second Ray arrived Lisa fell in love and although Ray suffers from separation anxiety, Lisa never looked back. One and a half months later, Ray became an official foster-fail and Lisa adopted him. Rocking his bandana and bowtie around the streets of Brunswick East, Ray has made a name for himself amongst the other greyhounds, in the neighbourhood he now calls home.
