I have been involved with Petstock Vet since 2011. We have a group of three Vet practices. They are purpose built as Hospitals. They flow well, and are easy to work in. They are well equipped so I can look after my patients with best practice medicine and surgery.
There is practice manager to coordinate and direct the practice. Our managers come from a Veterinary nurse background. They are supported by the owners and Head Office Petstock Vet team with real vets and nurses who have been in practice. This give the business direction and guidance in all aspects of running and managing a successful Veterinary Hospital.
And the Hospital is located right next to a Pet Specialty store with everything a pet needs. Including high quality puppy classes, grooming and hydrobathing facilities. So all the extras are there to make your job easier. I find it a fulfilling place to work and the culture is very much "Family Values", looking after each other, doing the best for our clients and their pets. It's fun!

Vets often ask me “what is the difference working in a corporate veterinary practice?” - having previously worked in both specialty and private general practice, the first answer I think of is “none”. On a day-to-day basis there is surprisingly little difference to working at Petstock Vet, to working at any high quality veterinary service. The main difference, if I had to sum it up in one word, is freedom.
I have the freedom to practice the quality and style of medicine I wish, with no limitations from my employers, my resources, or my (incredibly talented) support staff.
I have the freedom to develop my skills as a clinician, because of the varied and stimulating caseload I see every day. I have the support of an operations team composed of Vets and Vet Nurses; this gives me the freedom to concentrate on my job - being a passionate clinician.
As corporatisation of the veterinary industry progresses, an understandable concern amongst veterinarians is that working in a corporate practice will limit their potential to practice veterinary medicine, and therefore limit their ability to achieve professional satisfaction.
In a workplace without limits, it is I who determines the quality medicine I practice, and the type of vet I will become...
...but with the support of Petstock Vet, I don’t have to do it on my own.
