Meet the team
Dr Raelene Broome
Veterinarian
Dr Raelene Broome was born in Bunbury and was delighted with the opportunity to return to her home turf after graduating from Murdoch University's Veterinary School. Her passion has always been in Small Animal medicine and she aims to complete her memberships in a few years time. Raelene also has strong connections with larger animals with many early mornings under her belt milking dairy cattle and weekends riding horses.
While her dream of owning her own pony is yet to be realised, her collection of pets including: ten chooks, four ducks (with several generations of ducklings tearfully given new homes), two Ring-neck Indian Parrots, one Budgie, one Oblong Tortoise and a very mischievous black toy poodle inappropriately named Angel keep her on her toes.
Dr Risa
Veterinarian
Dr. Risa Sabbatini recently moved from Colorado, USA to the South West, Western Australia in September 2021. Her love for caring for animals started at the age of 12 when she helped her beloved show horse recover from a broken leg. She is a 2009 graduate from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine. After her first few years as an equine practitioner, she transitioned to a full time small animal general practitioner in 2015. She became certified in veterinary medical acupuncture in 2011 and uses this for therapy for a variety of neuromuscular ailments. She has particular interests in helping improve geriatric pets’ quality of life. In her spare time she enjoys exploring and fishing in Western Australia with her partner. Her other hobbies include cooking, hiking, reading, snow boarding, and traveling.
